Item #1 is a 1/8 scale replica of the 1965 Miss Exide unlimited hydroplane in the form as it raced in Seattle that year. These 1/8 scale hydros race in organized competitions in many clubs throughout the world. Enthusiasts compete in local and regional races on sheltered lakes, ponds and rivers in regularly scheduled races. The 1/8 scale class is usually powered by 0.67 cubic inch nitro burning glow-plug engines and boats can reach speeds of actual 60mph in competition.

The boat for sale was designed by Roger Newton and the epoxy hull made by MTO in California. I purchased the hull pieces from Roger in about 1989. Mike Phillips was the primary builder with my assistance and ideas. It's an extremely stable design and rock solid in construction. It raced maybe a dozen races in 1990-92 era, got repainted and I lost interest before putting on decals and clear coat. It raced originally with an OPS .67 but was to be re-launched with a K&B and a new hardware configuration. The hardware and engine are "missing in action" as I lost track of Mike Phillips when he moved his family to Montana several years ago. Included in the package are whatever parts and pieces, toolbox, etcetera that you may want and all the items shown in the photographs:
The basic hull, ready for decals and clear-coat, the existing scale dummy Rolls Merlin, the original cowling and a brand-new "more authentic" cowling, various driver parts, Futaba FP-T3PB PCM 3 channel wheel radio & unused Futaba FP-T3UCP PCM 3 channel stick radio, Hobbico TorqueMaster starter and Sullivan Model 4 Heavy Duty starter, several sheets of water-slide decal sets, Miss Exide photo album from original photos of the 1963-1965 era and anything else I can find that should go with it! David Newton looked it over and suggested I put a price tag of $1200 on it, feeling that price is appropriate. It's in perfect condition!
